Music Director & Conductor
Henderson Symphony Orchestra
Please join me on Saturday, May 10, at 7:00 pm, at the Hilton Lake Las Vegas Resort “Ponte Vecchio” bridge for an evening of Tango music and dance.
The Henderson Symphony Orchestra will perform the music of Carlos Gardel (1890 – 1935) and Astor Piazzolla (1921 – 1992), two of the world’s most prominent Argentine tango composers.
Buenos Aires-born siblings and 2017 USA Tango Champions, Ana and Michael Thomas, will bring the sweeping beauty and rich culture of Tango dance to life on stage.
This event has been graciously underwritten by Lake Las Vegas, Raintree Investment Corp., and the Hilton Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa, with food, beverage, and ticket sale proceeds going directly to the Henderson Symphony Orchestra.

In 1986, Frank Irvin, an orchestra teacher at Basic Academy of International Studies (formerly Basic High School) founded the Henderson Symphony Orchestra (HSO) to give graduating students the opportunity to continue practicing their craft while pursuing careers outside the music industry.
Today, the HSO regularly brings together over 80 talented musicians for its interactive Music 4Kids performances, Young Artists Competition, Conductor Camp, and 11 free concerts per year.
While our performances are free to attend, producing them costs a substantial amount of money. As such, our orchestra relies on the support of our community and its citizens. We are particularly grateful to the City of Henderson and Raintree Investment Corporation, the Declarant for Lake Las Vegas, for their consistent and considerable contributions to our mission.
Should you be interested and able, we would appreciate your support too. Please consider becoming a Friend of the HSO at one of the three membership levels:
- HSO’s Best Friend ($500)
- HSO’s Good Friend ($200)
- HSO’s Friend ($100)
We look forward to seeing you in the audience soon. Click here for additional information on the Henderson Symphony Orchestra.
